Team space decommission

The good news is that "Team space" has been decommissioned.
The bad news is that it has been replaced by an upgraded version: performance.

Over the years, Cisco has remained obsessed with these pointless games.
Put simply, there are just too many managers who do nothing but talk big.

V2MOM is now everywhere.

THE BIGGEST AND THE MOST IMPORTANT OF MANAGERIAL INCOMPETENCE IS THIS: IF THE M.O.R.O.N NEWLY PUT IN CHARGE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE TECHNOLOGY OR THE BUSINESS , THEN THE FIRST THING THAT IT TRIES TO DO IS TO ENFORCE THE DISCIPLINE OR TO OBSSESS WITH EFFICIENCIES

Fran and her army of sycophants are totally useless and keep obsessing over tools and metrics nobody cares about. We all know LRs are totally arbitrary, just like we all know outstanding colleagues who got the axe "just because". This pseudo performance tracking is total baloney. It will bo-b and get replaced by something else next year. Let's all fill Performance with AI slop!

Hated Team Space and it was a complete waste of time, since mgmt never read it or responded to it. I dread the next phase even more.

Business should be results-oriented, but Cisco's management turned it into process-oriented. It goes by the story of "digital transformation"
The root cause is having too many layers of middle management.

Maybe unpopular but I think team space did a good job at framing the conversation for my weekly 1-1 with my manager. Not looking forward to spyware dressed up as help.

the bigger tragedy is that Performance is mandatory now. my manager didn't care about Team Space. I checked in for the first couple months after I started here mostly as ceremony but quickly realized that no one cared about it. I have weekly 1:1 with my manager anyway. But now with Performance being mandatory, it's going to add a nuisance for both of us. It's going to be purely just going through the motions. At least with Team Space there was no pretense around it because we just didn't do it.
