Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Leaving Teradata sooner rather than later was a blessing

Just my personal opinion, but leaving Teradata sooner rather than later was a blessing. It gave me back my peace of mind. I felt mentally liberated, physically relaxed, regained my confidence without having to mechanically follow AI-prescribed steps, no longer needed to constantly exchange AI-generated feedback with coworkers, and could finally sleep well, enjoy the sunshine, and appreciate the simple things in life.

Are we all trauma bonding? Sure? Does it help us? Yes. If you don't want to hear it, move on Super Engineer.

Same. Every person I have talked to post-Teradata agrees that they moved on to better situations, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. It takes being out of the fire to realize what they were doing to you and how abnormal of a working environment it truly is.

If you are miserable, start looking. The power is in your hands.

Agreed, even the horrible process of job hunting in this market is so much less stressful than working at Teradata. Enjoy the weight lifted off your shoulders.

Relax Super-engineer. Don’t be upset because he has actual transferable skills and isn’t stuck like you.

Congratulations on your big emotional breakthrough! I'm so happy for you <3 Leaving a job and then writing a therapy diary entry about it on an anonymous forum must feel incredibly validating.

Most adults just update their résumé and move on without needing to announce how “mentally liberated” and “physically relaxed” they suddenly are.
The fact that you felt the need to post this says more about you than it does about Teradata.

Enjoy the sunshine.
