Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

John Stank. Where is …

John can you please tell us why the pensions rarely see an increase. Social security receives increases, teachers pensions and many others get good increases but no not with you John. You line your pockets while not giving a dam about anyone else. Your’e a washed up low value suit that has added absolutely NO value to the company. Your’e ego sickens those around you. You don’t even realize your’e not needed. Things will change for the better as soon as you are gone you goon!

Most employees don't max out their 401k contributions because they simply can't afford to today. In most cases it's because they're living paycheck to paycheck. Inflation today makes it incredibly difficult to save for retirement when bills are due today.
Stop with the nonsense about pensioners retiring in luxury. Most retirees are barely receiving enough 'income' to survive.

@dv Yes, the ownership was placed on the employee now. AT&T increased their 401k match from 4.8% to 7% on your 6%.

@an I bet you also believe that 'entitlement' programs like social security and Medicare should be eliminated also. How short sighted, uninformed and ignorant you obviously are.
90% of people employed today will never be in a position to 'save' enough to fund a comfortable retirement without their measly pensions and social security plus Medicare.
Life, however, has a way of showing you a thing or two eventually. You will find out eventually.

What’s a pension? You all realize anyone hired in the last 11 years doesn’t have one right.

It’s clear that Stank doesn’t give a damn about the employees. This he doesn’t give a damn about employee pensions either. His retirement isn’t based on a pension, so he has absolutely no reason to give it a boost. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. His goal is rid the company of as many employees as possible, and subsequently sc--wing with pensions is an another great way to drive people.

It is fantasy to think that suddenly this company would be better for employees if Stankey left. Doubtful the whole board would also be replaced. The current corporate trends in this country aren't employee friendly. It's not just att.

Someone said: " A bunch of people who didn’t plan for the future expect their job from 20 years ago to be paying them to live a life of luxury in retirement. Cut it off! Give it back to the people who are contributing TODAY not 20 years ago."

Selfish kids who only care about themselves are so annoying. We'll see how you feel when you are older.

“ John is about to go the way of the Cr--ker Barrel CEO.“

That’s hilarious. And who is going to send him packing, the Chairman of the BOD?

Oh wait, that’s him.

He’s not leaving until he wants to.

If the abysmal performance to this point in his tenure hasn’t gotten him canned, nothing will.

@OP pensions are the reason that most city governments and companies have fiscal issues. A bunch of people who didn’t plan for the future expect their job from 20 years ago to be paying them to live a life of luxury in retirement. Cut it off! Give it back to the people who are contributing TODAY not 20 years ago.
