@hv find the answer to your question via insite. The policy for severance is the same across the globe it doesn’t matter what country you are in. It’s 2 weeks per year you were with Visa maxed out at 12 weeks.
1 year= 80 hours
4 year= 320 hours
8 year= only 480 hours (12 weeks is the max they will pay out)
And so on…
Only things that will be different is if you get your bonus, insurance subsidy, etc.
@fq Hi is the serverance of 2 weeks for every year that for Europe?
Why is everyone downvoting @hc+1kyg4fgcz

Happening today - heavy impact to Technology in Atlanta. Best of luck to all affected. Its going to be a tough day!
Layoff already started with more to follow. No one is safe until you survive at least this week. You will notice people getting laid off when emailing district list and getting undeliverable bounce back
@dm global - 7%
@fp I noticed all the conference rooms are booked by “Admin Account” on Tuesday
I was laid off last month. I was told here that I was trolling and lying by the "experts".
Incidentally my severance was about 12 weeks as well. Felt really pathetic given the years service I had given and how well the company is doing.
People will say it was down to performance, but that's just not true. There's a conscious effort at the leadership level to shrink the organisation. It's not just in terms of numbers of people, it's costs too. If you are on good money in a high cost location, you are a target.
Corporate America was never a place for shrinking wall flowers, but in the last few years it's gotten really bad. Every company has now adopted the playbook of actively trying to turnover a certain percentage of their workforce each year.
It's a tough jobs market out there. Good luck to anyone affected.
7% global workforce reduction.
CEO will send email Tuesday morning 7/28 (yes same day as earnings call!)
Reductions will be announced over the next two days as people are notified.
Across all types of departments/orgs.
@ex you're right. I'm the announcer.
Yes, layoffs will be announced tomorrow
@e9 daaaang.. So sorry that this is how it ended for you after 9 years. So, you have 60 days of working notice, then the severance kicks in after the 60 days? that makes it a bit more manageable to find a job then for you I hope.
I cannot say what org at this time as I’m still on 60 day notice period and I do not want to violate any terms. I can say I was not in tech org.
The severance used to be one month paid for every year worked. They changed that policy in Jan 2025. Now you get 2 weeks (80 hours) per year worked. Maxed out at 12 weeks. I was with Visa for 9 years and got 12 weeks. No equity for November that I’m aware of. I did ask if the severance was negotiable and I was told no.
I’m still shocked never saw it coming. Thank you for all the well wishes. Let the job hunt begin. :(
Which org are likely to take the HIT? Any idea ?
@a4 want to say sorry, and also thanks for sharing this info. It helps all of us, even though it completely su-ks for you. Sorry friend. Looks like there’s many more of us heading your way
@a4 - Sorry to hear that. Does the 12 weeks mean you got 2 weeks/year but only up to 6 years (i.e. employed more than 6 years didn't matter)? It used to be 1 month per year, now 2 weeks per year (which I confirmed w/HR), but they wouldn't specify a cap. If you are in CA, you also get the 60-day WARN notice which covers everybody, no matter how small the layoff was.
@a4 I'm so sorry to hear that your role was eliminated--hoping you find something better next. Best wishes! Did they let you keep any equity set to vest this November?
@a4 that's an incredibly small amount of severance. I thought we were on payroll for 2 months post notification. So if you worked here for a years, you get just a month salary?
@ae Technology had some last week. More coming
@a4 Which Org?
@OP I was laid off last week. Got my bonus, about 11k for cobra coverage, got 2 weeks of pay per year I was with the company up to 12weeks. Located in the US. We are in a period of time called “forever layoffs” companies continue to restructure every few months.
