Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Toxic Manager

recently got a very toxic manager—an Indian guy. He has serious trust issues and creates a highly toxic work environment. I’ve had Exceeds Expectations ratings for the last five years. Should I continue here or start looking for opportunities outside?

Looking around the office. If I did not know I was in the US, I'd thought I was in a Delhi sweatshop. How did it turn this way?

I am a hiring manager and throw every Indian resume in the trash. Fight fire with fire they only on their own.. I’ll hire my own.

Doesn’t hurt to look. It will make you feel better that you’re doing something to better your situation.

@e0 I would like to propose the name "O2 Team" to send each and every one to GCC. They are Actual Indian (AI) experts who can handle their work perfectly in GCC. None should be kept in CO or Texas. Their place should be Hyderabad. They are real AI (Actual Indian) politics experts.

If you find a person with multiple master's degrees, do not assume they are intelligent. They are likely manipulating the visa system. This is why the US is implementing a hard stop of four years. Any Schwab employee who is Indian and has a double master's degree should be understood by default to be gaming the F1 visa system. Investigate thoroughly

Yes they are absolutely toxic and these managers are in a process of digging their own graves. They want subordinates leave and they will replace them with people from India with cheaper cost. And finally one day they will figure out there is nobody for them to manage and would be laid off. They don’t have any skill to find another job in the market.

Wait till Schwab realizes GCC is another sh-t show from Indians . Atleast the current contractors you can shout and abuse . Schwab America Indian managers now dealing with Schwab india seasoned politrics

You should always be looking outside Schwab, regardless of if you have a good manager or not. Jobs in the US will dwindle fast, as the GCC in India will ramp up, and AI will take over.

Run don’t walk. HR didn’t help, and neither did leadership. Once I realized the culture wasn’t going to change, the best decision I made was to start looking elsewhere. The environment had become so exclusionary and driven by an entrenched in-group that succeeding on equal footing no longer felt possible if you weren’t part of that circle. No job is worth constantly feeling like you’re on the outside looking in. The good news is this isn’t how every company operates. Don’t let one toxic workplace convince you that’s just how the industry is. There are organizations where you’ll be valued for your contributions rather than your proximity to the right group.

Sounds like my situation. You should look but there aren't many jobs in tech if you aren't indian. I'm personally planning on quitting and moving to a cheaper place where I can live off my assets and get an easier job outside of tech. If you can get another job in tech then more power to you.
