Why would Oxy pay its Petro Technicals a very generous one time bonus unrelated to yearly goals or performance. Some top onshore and offshore engineers received +60,000 for their efforts..

Those top engineers are gone because Apache has terrible talent management and prioritized cutting costs and imposing HR career frameworks - damn the consequences - over anything else, including keeping the organization to sustain a a profitable business long term. We did need to streamline the organization, but this process should have strengthened it, not weakened it.
They’ve laid off the low performers and those with contrarian views (which can be healthy), the top performers and motivated talent have self selected out, so all we are mostly left with is a middling middle of people with either no options, no motivation, or who are just hanging out and waiting for the end or for something better.
Seriously. Oxy truly is a good company.
Apache does not have any of the engineers that they awarded employee of the year in the past few years. Everyone's gone. LOL. I feel theychoose the wrong candidates to honor or the guys are really so good that they leave. Lol
Oxy on the other hand nurtures it's employees. I don't believe in fake D&I but Oxy has all sorts of races up top from middle management to upper management. Apache only has crooked inept good old boys in the coveted thrones
Apa and Oxy where the same size at some point, the difference is the quality of CEOs
And they don’t have layoffs every other month
Because they appreciate their employees. Unlike Apache that does not give one s… about any of its employees.
Because they can. Oxy is three times the size of Apache.
you should definitely go in and ask for an off cycle bonus
Maybe they are about their staff. What a concept!
