What happens if you find another job during the WARN notice period, but before the severance payoff date? What is written into the US agreement?

I'm not sure what the WARN notice period is, if you mean the 2 month garden leave, here's how it worked out for me:
I was told that if I found a job during the 2 months of pay/benefits, I should let HR know, and pay/benefits would discontinue. I was told the severance happens no matter what, as well as the Cobra payment. Actually, I expected to wait until the end of the garden leave to get the severance cash payout, but it actually came with the first paycheck after I was laid off, so about 2 weeks in. I ended up finding a job about a week before my final paycheck, but I got the paycheck anyway, along with my FTO payout. HR told me that was correct, so I didn't complain. All in all, I ended up with a pretty good chunk of change in the bank due to this layoff, on top of a better job in the end. Not too shabby.
I am also curious about this. Would anyone know?
