What’s the WARN notice? How does it pertain to being let go?

Someone said if you asked to be laid off, that you’ll be spared.
Once you selected you will receive a quick 15 min call with your mgr that reads a script and you will have your access terminated within 30 minutes (usuallu) unless they expected you to work part of your WARN period. WARN is 90 days and you still are considered an employee of Citi but you will have no access to Citi systems. You will be paid your regular paycheck and receive your benefits like normal for the next 90 days...you are terminated and then get unused PTO paid and your severance payment 4-6 weeks later. If you are lucky enough to have a spouse working and/or find another job within 4 months it is a paid Citi vacation.
Warn is just state mandated paid period. For nyc it's 90 days.
The company will have to file with the state if they plan to do mass layoffs. However Citi just lays off and pays the warn notice period and then it gets posted on warn site after the fact
