If you choose to apply for the VSP just know that it is stated in the FAQs that they will reach out and discuss you and your application with your leadership supv/manger etc and that will be a weighing factor in whether or not they approve you or deny you.

Honestly, as a manager I would never judge the people that apply for it (even if they end up not getting it and staying at centene).
It is a pretty cr-ppy situation that impacts morale and mental health and I can understand people wanting to get out for a number of reasons (do not trust the company or health of company, wanting a break, wanting to retire).
HR sent themselves a letter.
@af LOL yet you're the only one that's named calling. Sorry you feel the need to do that but if you want to make yourself look foolish go right on ahead.
The rest of us will consider your stories anecdotal.
Are you all hearing that a lot of employees are taking it?
What you should be doing is, go for the VSP if you want it.
Doesn't matter what your "leader" wants or doesn't want.
Deal with what happens as a result, later on when it's time to deal with it.
In the meantime, look for something better.
You're not locked in to anything...this is a free country!
Focus on what YOU want.
Most workers just want a decent work atmosphere, with enough money to live comfortably.
So how do you get that for yourself?
If it's not here, it's somewhere else.
So take what you can get here (whether it's VSP, a layoff, or just regular salary) WHILE you look for better opportunities elsewhere. Somewhere along the line, something's gotta give. You'll either get what you want from this place, or find something better some place else.
This isn't rocket science.
It's life.
Things change.
You're not owed stability, and you have to make moves on your own, rather than sitting passively waiting on others to do it for (and to) you.
Recognize reality, and figure things out!
Be confident and proactive about plotting the course of your own career's trajectory.
@ag my leader has not said a peep and really considering taking the offer just unsure do I talk to them or not
Just wondering what difference it makes speaking to our leaders about it. Are we worried about retaliation? Because that’s a whole other HR issue we can be on the look out for.
@ae Sounds like you're a little sensitive around the feelers huh? Now you being that kind of person is actually what su-ks...if you're a je-k you're a je-k ...
@aa thank you for copying that in. That's exactly what I said I just didn't copy it in. Thank you for backing up what I said.
@aa and yet you are the one that's named calling. Su-ks to be you so bothered by the fact that someone called out that that was not exactly what was stated. You are the worst kind of human but that's okay you can be miserable all by yourself.
"more than likely apply to areas where they may or may not want to cut people."
So, 100% of areas then.
Great, hard-hitting analysis and almost worth what I paid for it.
@a9 This is exactly copied & pasted from the PDF
OP was telling the whole story and your just being a uppity je-k trying to dismiss it. Semantics and people should know that their leadership may have influence over whether they get approved or not. The POINT is that they more than likely will talk to your leadership and if you don't get on well with your leadership it will affect the outcome.

Is my request for more information regarding the VSP or decision to apply confidential?
When possible, request for information about the VSP will be confidential. If you apply for the VSP, your people leader will not be notified until after the application period closes on July 2. However, it is possible we will need to discuss your application with your leadership to inform our decision.
That isn't exactly what it says. It explicitly States when possible, request for information about the VSP will be confidential. If you apply for vsp, your people leader will not be notified until after the application period closes on July 2nd. However, it is possible we will need to discuss your application with your leadership to inform our decision.
So in short it says it is possible and that would more than likely apply to areas where they may or may not want to cut people. If you're going to come on here tell the whole story
@a7 It's in the FAQs pdf attached to the VSP offer
Where did you find this?
they can discuss all they want.
personally, I'm not accepting the VSP and if I get laid off, it is what it is at this point.
I laughed and told my leader "good luck without me"...
they will be looking at which positions are a necessity and will consider the feedback given from your leader.

At this point, who really gives a sh!t?
The days of finessing and strategically maneuvering, while factoring in all of the possible "what ifs" regarding others' (boss's) choices or reactions are gone.
