Curious whether this week’s announcement felt completely out of the blue for most teams, or if others have already been seeing changes over the last 6–12 months (leadership departures, consultant involvement, role reviews, org changes, layoffs, etc.). Trying to understand whether these conversations have been happening broadly across Centene or only in certain areas.

Layoffs just occurred with Medicare BH UM in May.
TBH, I didn't see it coming. But, my department has undergone major changes in the last 8 months that are still not complete. However, once the announcement was made, some odd departures made sense very quickly. Clearly, those folks saw the writing on the wall or actually had information that this was coming and fled.
CA is busier than ever but the cuts to Medi-Cal haven’t kicked in yet. We do project a loss in membership. But right now I’m busier than ever.
FL Ambetter UM has has a steadily decreasing workload for the last few months. Leaders have not been forthcoming with any information if they had any idea that a layoff was coming. They have continually brushed off concerns about what would happen if we were not able to meet productivity requirements due to the low volume of work. I think a lot of us assumed a lay off was coming soon but when anyone brought up a concern it was downplayed.
I’ve heard some departments have been experiencing layoffs or significant staffing reductions over the last several months.
For departments that have already gone through major reductions, are they generally in a better position if additional restructuring occurs, or are they more likely to continue seeing cuts?
I know some teams have mentioned seeing a substantial reduction in workload, which obviously seems like a difficult position to be in.
It seems like the Health Plans often take a significant hit during restructuring efforts, yet in the previous RIF many people felt the impact was more concentrated on the corporate side.
Has anyone noticed a pattern one way or the other?
I heard leaders from various health plans have been let go, it’s sad to see but this has been planned since Q1. Sarah needs to go, she has ruined Centene
Once the Big Beautiful Bill passed, we all knew this would be coming. No surprises here!
They warned us during the last RIF last year
When the stock crashed and the BBB passed. I knew it was only a matter of time. Welcome to managed care.
