I got RIF’d into early retirement. At least I finally got my package.

@j2 Yes, there will be layoffs but no material planning has started. The metric which is bugging the ELT is that Seagate's opex is about $100M less per quarter than WD. They have structural advantages such as operating in N. Ireland and MN but nonetheless, WD will cut staff to try to match them.
@a2 If you are a professional who is 55+ and has 5+ years of tenure and tenure+age > 70, you qualify.
Will there be layoffs if enough people don't accept ?
