Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What's worth fighting for here besides a paycheck?

People keep telling me that should be enough. We've just accepted that we have to take the uncertainty, the disrespect, the constant stress, all so we can pay the bills. But that's not actually enough. We spend most of our waking lives at work, often doing overtime, and there's no meaning to any of it beyond the money. Is it any wonder people are burnt out and hate their jobs?

@fq
The parents of your family despise and resent you and would like you to leave the family voluntarily or involuntarily.

Nothing here is worth fighting for. It’s bare minimum 8&skate while collecting full paychecks and the boot lickers and virtuals pick up the slack.

When you actually quit caring what they say, it gets way easier. Once you stop caring, they have no power over you.

The ability to stay employed! I’ve been actively searching for over a year to get a new job and am not getting any feelers on applications submitted. I don’t get any bites at all. I would be unemployed if let go from T.

All the boomers commenting here are just accustomed to the lifestyle. All they know is work and lick the boot. Unfortunately our society is run by them right now, so it’s pretty bleak for the future. Once they start falling off the perch things will get better. Once you have a kid or a mortgage you’re unfortunately a slave to the suits for the rest of your life. it has been getting to me pretty bad too OP.

If you weren’t being paid at all would you keep working?

No. Because it is about getting paid.

If it’s not about money for you, quit!

Go be a saint and make the world a better place for free. Tell your mortgage company, your bank that holds the note to your car and your children that are hungry that “it’s not about money, it’s about purpose”.
