I heard a rumor from one of my people in HR that it's supposed to be M2 heavy, no idea how true that is. SWE's are gonna be pretty badly hit as well, so as someone with a bloated team/org I've just come to terms it's over at this point.

@k2 some were axed in 2024. There was no formula other than each group had to deliver a certain body count. Tenure didn’t factor in. VPs+ had discretion to put anyone on the list.

When credit is cheap, the share prices moon, .....now when energy prices go up , cheap credit is no more and share prices take a dump ...we are scrwed..this is just the tip of the iceberg ..yikes

I’m a director and was just notified it’s happening tomorrow. Initial email will be sent at 5am and then the impacted will receive a second hr invite starting at 9am

@dy Yes but by law, they need to file with state and possibly federal. I've been part of a WARN layoff before. I just assumed they would need to file documents first. Maybe they embargo them until day of.

@d1 Last big layoff in Jul 2024, managers didn't know until either the afternoon before or the morning of (I can't remember which), but there was no manager or knowledge or input until right before we had to give the news.

@cz Yes, it's typically an AM action. The 2024 layoff was on Wednesday, July 10, at 9AM.
