It happening industry wide. Flattening of organizations. Removal of AVP’s, ED’s, directors, having managers / IC roll directly up to VP’s. Sometimes (most of the time it doesn’t happen all at once and it’s one layer at a time) but eventually most of the layers are removed.

I just googled it and for the past years, Santander have had lots of major and mass layoffs. Was the new CIO laid off from Santander, together with all the executives he is bringing in with him? Amala's last comp was $3.5M, so USAA must be a gold mine for these new Santander execs. Wayne's last was $14.1M.

@aa just like Amala and bringing in her people from Regions, we all saw how that played out.

CIO is transforming entire Technology Org into what he calls "Classical IT Org", whatever that is. Is that what they have at Santander? I've never heard of Santander until he joined. Big bank in Europe, but hey - you're in the US, and we want the US way of doing things.

CIO replacing USAA old timers with his own people - Englishmen and people from Santanders.
