Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Just emailed senior management regarding "side hustles" and lack of work ethic.

This worrying trend of "side hustles" has me concerned for the support I (won't) get from colleagues when needed.

I have emailed senior management regarding engineers circumventing their Teams statuses, mainly via scripts, in order for DXC to start looking into ways of identifying those responsible.

I doubt anything will happen but hopefully we can rid the company off these non-team players. I recommend doing the same. A few colleagues are following suit this morning and sending their own concerns.

@OP This company has no idea what work needs doing, who can do it, the status of it, or how long anything takes. 90% of what I do is fluff and status reporting when I could be delivering something useful.

I’m not putting more effort into non-productive tasks. Second jobs might be pushing it, but a flexible side hustle you can pick up and drop feels fair. If that’s not acceptable, you might as well work somewhere that actually pays.

The trade-off is DXC keeps the knowledge I’ve built up and can call on it when needed. In return I get 0% rises, top up my income elsewhere, and keep my skills fresh. As soon as I’m needed, I’m straight back on it.

You enjoy your 0% forever pay rises - they won't replace the people you manage to get sacked. God knows I tried in my time - it always backfires.
