You will always have to choose between your principles and an income - even as your own boss. Look at the cake in Colorado whom the state just won't leave alone to run his business as his values dictate. However, you have much more control working for yourself, if you can take the risk.
be your own boss. open your own damn business.
Get a job with Twitter. They are hiring and pay well.
Healthcare, afterlife care and alcohol industries are also recession proof.
yes it is not hard to find a better ran company than att and still be in the telecommunications business.
att is managed horribly and is being ran into the ground. it could be so much better but they are busy hiring friends and family and you get incompetence in areas that cannot withstand incompetence.
but when ceo was son in law to former ceo what can you expect.
The trick is to find an industry that can't be disrupted. Phone service can only get cheaper over time. You need an industry moving in the opposite direction. Government, military are good options especially now that we are kicking off a new cold war. Leido, L3, General Dynamics, and Wagner Group have all been recruiting my business unit pretty heavily.
I originally was looking into municipal positions, but I landed at an electric utility. The ATT resume helps. I could have worked 10 more years at ATT, but why torture myself.
