L1 and L2 hiring freeze while ATS and other organizations assess the impact of AI and determine why we have 40,000 workers more than Verizon. In my opinion, the big one is coming this summer.

This AI Hype is really getting to me. At&t is light years away from doing anything transformational with AI. Summarizing meeting minutes and emails with copilot is laughable.
They have layer on top of layer to implement Ai and we ain't going anywhere. And ask att is a very poor Ai tool..
Former Wilson organization is a cluster under Walters. They are increasing their outsource expense and not offsetting by any internal reductions. They are pretending systems are helping them financially — nothing can be further from the truth but execs believing and the bloat remains
Disagree that there will be "a big one". There are 5 more cuts coming this year for management. The next one is in April. I suspect the remaining 5 management cuts will be moderate in size to keep the shock level down. I was put off payroll as of 3/4/26 and I am so happy to be gone!!!
Because Verizon really doesn't have wireline anymore. Once the merger with Frontier goes through, then compare number of employees.
"This is the big one! You hear that, Elizabeth... This is the big one! You hear that, Elizabeth? I'm coming to join ya, honey!"
Maybe Stank should stop cutting retirement benefits, though there isn't much left now. The old folks have to stay on until 67 due to the cut in health care he instituted 5 years ago.
The AI thing so far is way over hyped. The impact so far is my group is zero. OK, meeting minutes. So ten minutes a week for me. I'm not saying it wont be in the future, but to evaluate it right now is ridiculous. It shows how far removed the decision makers are from reality.
ATS needs to shed 25K employees yesterday. Bloated org.
The hyper fixation on # of employees is ridiculous
This hyper fixation on AI is absolutely comical.
Though we are being forced to try and come up with all kinds of things for
It to do to make our own jobs “easier” LOL…the only thing we can really do with it is have it transcribe and record meetings, and then generate notes that have to be edited. That is literally it.
Our job has us navigating through so many different old legacy systems, requiring purely institutional knowledge. Today’s version of AI can’t do any of it.
