Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Margin compression = layoffs

Memory shortages are going to whack margins and the only lever that can be pulled to maintain stock price is expense reduction aka layoffs.

This company has no ability to sell software without hardware and no ability to hedge across non storage products.

Before someone says what about cloud ..... Azure and the others, will also be hit with the shortages.

NetApp is like a small mom and pop hardware store which is being destroyed by Home Depot.

Leave now before the out of business sign is on the door.

@OP

Your sentiment is on point.

The problems run far deeper than a few cargo containers of memory sticks and even more cargo containers of Kioxia storage.

Regardless of how the books are arranged (managed or even cooked), why would anyone continue to buy NetApp? Sure some customers are locked in, the very solid good old boy back slapping kickback programs, and the spooks. Once can't legal mention F35 and NetApp in the same press release.

Aren't the days of cloud storage migration dead? I thought so.

What is left? Hyperscales with a broom closet of ontap for banks?

Maybe there is hope, GK can ride Jensen's "Red" carpet into Trump's AI filled diaper.
