I was talking to a friend the other day and he said he always knows layoffs are coming at his company because managers basically go missing for weeks and routine meetings get canceled. Do we have something that? Has anybody noticed any similar or different clear signs layoffs are coming at Verizon?

VZ has been doing bi-annual RIFS for over a decade. They were never as big as this last round and usually targeted people management didn't want to performance manage out.
This last one was cleanup with a chainsaw. Dan is crazy so the traditional playbook is out the window. Update your resume and be ready to look. I honestly don't think anyone is safe. You heard his last address to the entire company.

I think the first sign is a hiring freeze and budget cuts for travel and expenses
We have silent strobe lights that go off in our office. Red two days before the RIF and yellow three days before that.
That's why the WFH ladies are always blindsided.
You this person doesn't know cr-p. The execs can't hold their secrets and that's how the rest of us find out.
@ab I'm not asking about rounds we know about so we can expect. I'm asking in general, if there's a sign before announcements, before it becomes obvious.
