Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Leadership vs Management

It baffles me why anyone is using the term “Leadership” followed by the description of what a lead, boss, manager, or executive is. It has been several years or more since I have seen a true Leader here. Unfortunately, those that were or could be have been stifled. Their voice and empowerment silenced, unable to lead due to the constraints imposed by management and executives.

Reminder of what Leadership is…

LEADERSHIP is the ability to influence, inspire, and guide individuals or teams toward achieving a common goal, often by fostering collaboration, motivation, and positive change. It is a set of behaviors—not just a title—focused on setting direction, building trust, and unlocking team potential to navigate challenges.

@ab This exactly! My leader is a yes man and doesn't have 2 brain cells to rub together to generate an independent thought. She relies on CoPilot for everything.

There are way too many layers of “Leadership” roles at U.S. Bank, way too many. If the bank wants to save money start cut backs there.

Middle management wants non-thinking drone "yes" front line managers because the d-mbbells in middle management are non-thinking dopes. Middle managers got promoted by sticking their head up their boss's backside.

@a8 THAT too. EXACTLY what you said.

“ Workers are to be moved around often with their stupid reorgs so employees can't gain organic knowledge.”

They want "Yes" people not leaders, in any sense of the word. Look around you. Those that have been RIF'd or left for another job were the good ones who tried to reason. Their bosses did not like them and now we are left with the delinquents who think they are "leaders".

This company hates any form of leadership. Managers are micro-managed by mo--ns who extinguish any and every sign of happiness, satisfaction, and dedication. Middle management wants everyone to be as miserable as they are. Experts and experience is to be avoided. Workers are to be moved around often with their stupid reorgs so employees can't gain organic knowledge.
