Whoever you are, get out now. This place is a toxic wasteland run by a group of deluded skeksis.
@hs No one expects anyone to go through all the post on this page we do however expect them to have their ears on for every meeting with their TL’s, Teams and Townhall. This topic is talked about on a daily basis not just here. Get over RTO it’s a done deal follow orders or find another job.
I was a remote employee and was laid off last week.
@bz the original poster said they were hired. Did I miss something? Do we really expect new hires to go through dozens of old posts on this site? No need to be a di-k
I have been fully remote for over 10 years with no nearby hub. I just got rated needs improvement in my annual review because my boss said they had to give out a certain number of them.
I have no doubt I'm gonna get laid off. I just wish I had something of a timeline so I can brace for impact.
I really used to like working at USB. It's a shame.
If your status in Workday is Remote, it does not mean you are “now required to go into the office”. If you are within 30 miles of a hub, yes, it would be required if you are listed as a Hub employee.
But note, they are strategizing to greatly reduce our remote workforce and primarily have in office employees (unless you are in one of the approved remote roles that will remain remote). No one fully knows that strategy they are executing to. So if it means you’re on a layoff list, it’s hard to say.
Remote does not automatically mean lay-off. I have seen more hybrid employees laid off in the past 12 months than remote. But remote does mean no promotions unless you have a crazy level skill that is hard to find and your L3 approves it. At which point one would wonder why you are at this dump.
What rock have you been living under??? This topic has been beaten to death for over 2 years now if you don’t know the answer to your question you’re too d-mb to work at U.S. Bank or anywhere else.
300 miles in all directions is a pretty big net, and I'll bet there's quite a few opportunities, in an area that big, to work someplace better than this dumpster fire. Good luck either way.
I, personally, would not relocate to a hub in hopes of job security with this company. I guess it depends on your role, but with the focus of offshoring and laying off to post jobs for way less pay and then eventually move them to Poland or something... I'd probably only move if you have skills that are valued in businesses in the hub area you're looking to move to.
Really you need to talk to your manager and their L2 before you do anything
Well you will be targeted for a layoff first like the rest of us and be prepared to get no raises cause that’s what they started this year. No raises or barely any especially for remote workers.
You don't have to work in a hub generally if you live more than 30 miles away. Some say you will be targeted for layoffs more than in Hub employees but I have not seen on my team or teams I work with. You probably have little to no opportunity for advancement unless you have some special skill. Why don't you speak with your manager?
