Inquiry Regarding Vendor Cost-Cutting Measures and Potential Impact

I'm hoping to get a clearer picture of the current situation with our vendors. I've heard whispers about potential cost-cutting measures on their end, and I'm trying to understand the impact on our side.

Does anyone have any insight into whether cost-cutting is actually happening? If so, do we know which specific vendors are being impacted? Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated.

@fs Puts figured out we weren't saving money and the stock buybacks are ending. Yikes.

It’s not a vague question if you manage any vendors… the states plan is to “bend the cost curve” for vendors in key area(s) by a significant amount by 2029. There are lots of angles this is being looked at from. But it’s not an easy thing to do, especially with different enterprises just getting their own software etc. There is no incentive for them to work together to get better pricing or terms at the same time… it’s a valiant effort that I don’t think will have the impact they want. Personally I think we need to spend more, especially in tech, to keep up.

Cost-cutting is happening, which is partly why the stock is up. Vendors and total spend have been assessed. Q1 is implementation. Projected savings are off due to memory, storage, and tariff price increases, so there is a second round of cuts in planning. Since you’re not in vendor management or an executive role, please don’t communicate directly with vendors or speculate further.

It's a known to everyone by now that GCC will impact some roles onshore. They would start with vendors. Best of the best offshore contractors (or friends) would be given opportunity to convert to full time. Onshore will have least possible strength to help cost cuts, atleast on the few teams they are planning to implement this first. I will not take any word this EC says for granted. Hybrid work is here to stay - big face palm. No layoffs - got transitioned into systematic quarterly org changes.

Showing a big finger will probably presented like 'here are my new nails'. Just corporate English to butter the a-s burn.
