Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Unused PTO

I am really surprised no one is talking about loosing their unused PTO. I cant believe CC get away with this. PTO is something that is accrued (earned). How can they get away with not paying that out at the time of termination? Unless of course the state you live in has a law that says CC must pay it out. As far as I know, PA doesn't have such a law.

Blame your state politicians for not protecting you like other states do. In many states, it is required by law that they pay you. And for all the id--ts on here claiming "severence is fair", everyone will get the same severance whether you live in one of those states and get paid for your accrued PTO or not.

You ever hear of saving for a rainy day? People roll over PTO to have for emergencies. Good grief.

@a2 you are 100% correct. These mo--ns bi--hing about PTO when the severance package is more than fair. The warn act does not apply here with the severance that they are giving out.

The people here are id--tic.

I don’t understand people that have rollover pto. Why don’t you use it that year? the company gives two s about you so why are you giving them extra work. You loose money not taking it you basically cut your salary bc you are working more then you should.

I received two weeks per year of service, and my accrued PTO was paid in a separate check

The folks that were cut in the early rounds received a full PTO payout as well as an 8 week add on. They said the 8 weeks was for short notice. It was 2 weeks for every year, plus your pro rated bonus, plus your PTO, plus the additional 8 weeks.

That’s why they switched to PTO few years back, so they didn’t have to pay it out. We used to have vacation and sick time

Did they shaft you on your bonus?

Would you rather have your severance or PTO? Seems to me the severance package is very fair plus you have time to look for a job now.

You do have the option to not sign and decline your severance and instead just take your PTO if you’d rather do that.
