We're not living in some golden age where jobs are easy to find. I'm freaking out, and by the looks of it, the vast majority of people around me are too.

AI on here is not real.
The Administration do not want another company to lay of 60,000. They have put a hold on it for a month.
With Oracle 5-10+ yrs in resume, recruiters are rarely calling in USA and Europe. Even with some calls, its difficult to clear interviews. Even after clearing interviews, there is a second thought that I am from Oracle.
Sometimes, I wonder Oracle might be my last IT company to work for.
I am hands-on, i am skilled, I am experienced. Its so intimidating to go to ground level again to clear a DS interview after years of experience and start back. I definitely agree a fresh graduate does much better with 2-4 years of college studies preparing for DS interviews than a family person coming to office every day. Life goes happy in youth but steers a lot on the way.
Even if you are prepared for algorithms, it might be your bad day that you miss out.
Some even have backdoor process to clear interviews or get jobs with favoritism and recommendations.
Being genuine and hands-on doesn't pay you well.
WIth visa, you are a puppet in hands of your manager. He knows you are in fear and pushes all the work. Its not what you know , but whom you know which works in Oracle and IT industry.
Still I have Hope and Still I will stand.
Its better to keep applying ,and make your cv visible to recruiters, who knows, they will propose a job with better advantages
I’ve never applied to jobs on job sites. Only directly. I’ve only applied to like 20 places
@OP I posted my resume via monster, Simply hired/Indeed back in Jan 2024 and never re-fresh my resume on a weekly basis per my career counselor advise and here we are Jan 2026 still receiving emails and calls from headhunters. Most of the job offers and expectations is to be in office 5 DAYS a week, salary very competitive. If you do post your resume make sure never put your home address. Just put your email and landline phone if you still have one. If you put your cell phone number it will ring non-stop.
@b5 I see HR are openly trolling for people to can. @op don’t fall for it!
Assuming you are at Oracle, what role are you in?
