I was laid off in November so I haven’t been back to the office since. Just curious to know how the survivors are faring?

@c8 Start looking now; the job market is terrible as we're up against hundreds of thousands of laid-off employees.
In GTS our workload has doubled
@cd what finance areas are going to be impacted?
My co-workers in global have double the workload and upper leadership has one plan, to eliminate expense/systems that don't drive revenue.
@da I’m hearing no more Pulse surveys
I was riffed but curious too about those that remain and the overall 'morale' -- especially within CGO. Is there still 'GEM Awards' now that nobody is a hero (per Dan)? Has there been a PULSE survey lately? Are audits being successful?
finance is going to get hit very hard according to my boss
Nervous about the impending layoffs.
@as pretty decent chance they’ll get laid off in the next round
They are doing better than the ones that were cut. 🤪
Morale? who cares. the rest are getting paid a nice check every other Friday.
The job market is tough and it is just getting tougher. the ones who didnt get laid off are lucky. I live by myself, no spouse to rely on for continuation of medical benefits and share the living costs. I prefer to stay but got laid off in Nov 20. But I heard from my friend who just found a job, he said everyone in Verizon are looking for a job externally.
Things are tougher than I have ever seen here in 20 years given the lack of people and increasing workload, but most are all in, on board, and working hard to do the best they can with the time they have available. I think many would jump at other internal opportunities at this point due to workload increases, but there are none to be had, and if there were I am sure the work would be just as hard. I am definitely earning my paycheck, but, that is what I'm supposed to do. It's my job
Don't worry about it. No matter what the status is, you can't change it. Focus on yourself and those that you're responsible. Focus on what YOU can control in life.
Move on. We’re fine.
You are ki-ling yourself for a job that would replace you within a week if you dropped dead. Take care of yourself
