Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Uneducated people won't benefit as much from AI

https://www.anthropic.com/research/anthropic-economic-index-january-2026-report

TLDR: How humans prompt is how Claude responds: The education levels of human prompts and AI responses are nearly perfectly correlated (r > 0.92 at both levels). Higher per capita usage countries also show more augmentation—using Claude as a collaborator rather than delegating decisions entirely.

In other words, model quality output highly correlates with education level. Explains a lot at WF. Time to bring in more AI savvy people.

@ch Jibe means to agree, harmonize, or be consistent with (e.g., "that doesn't jibe with the facts"). Jive refers to a style of dance/music or deceptive, foolish talk.

Hmmm...my comment on this thread was removed for some reason. I still don't understand the objection to this report. OF COURSE uneducated people won't benefit from AI. Garbage in, garbage out. If you interrogate AI with evidence and reason, you'll get a better result. If you're a mentally stunted sycophant who asks d-mb questions and then blandly accepts the first answer, you'll get cr-ppy results. Why is this controversial?

@ch

I think your 2nd point answers your 1st point, does it not? And you are correct, and it amounts to huge strategic mistakes being made. Not just by WF, but many companies. Case in point: look at the decision to put TK over AI... It seems like they are only now realizing the error here.

Nonetheless, considering all the tags the bots slapped on the post, it seems to be relevant for this board. AI is related to layoffs, even if indirectly at times.

@c0 Yes, which WF has no shortage of.

Two thoughts:

1 - What does this have to do with WF layoffs?

2 - This does not jive with American corporations laying off tons of educated workers. They're trying to replace educated workers with id--ts who use AI to vibe their way into/through jobs.
