Hey, it’s Bill, just wanted to make sure you knew we were working today, it’s not like a holiday or a Sunday or anything like that. Umm yeah, so if you could just let us know, that’d be great.

@14w ummmmmm, yeah, I’m gonna need you to come in on Saturday to make up for the missed Tuesday. Okay then, we’ll see you then.
Cool story Lumbergh. Why don’t you go review some TPS reports?
Just a reminder to people, it’s not a snow day, a cold weather day or anything like that. You are expected in the office today.

I am sure that is the case. I always find it amusing that there are people in this forum that think DF or any other Model e executives knows them like they are part of leadership.
He doesn't think about you at all.
Please look up the concept of cr--s in a bucket. “I didn’t get that benefit so neither should you” is the logic of a 6 year old.
I still believe RTO was to try to reduce the workforce without doing layoffs. With people quitting, they obviously don't have to pay severance and unemployment. They also avoid the negative press coverage doing this. However, the job market has been SO bad in the last year, people didn't quit from RTO as they cannot find other jobs. This has been my situation and others I've talked to working at Ford. Hoping the job market gets at least a little better this year.
Mind you, MANY People Leaders including some reporting to Farley do not live in Michigan and work as a remote employee. There are tons of GSRs that work remotely living 60+ miles outside of Dearborn in my organization. Apparently, they can "collaborate" accordingly to do their job whereas people living under 60 miles of Dearborn don't have the ability. {sarcasm}
They don't care how much you hate RTO. There is no accountability for bad managers at Ford. They are allowed to do whatever they want, go as far as they choose, and destroy the lives of people who lack protection. There is no transparency, no ownership, no apology, only threats, pressure, and quiet retaliation. Their bosses enable it, often implicitly, sometimes enthusiastically "i support my team". The corporate structure reinforces their belief that they are righteous, likely masking their own insecurity, and they operate with complete disregard for the real consequences of their actions. It is written off as “just business” or “just life,” but that framing is dishonest. It feels like an abusive relationship where compensation and superficial kindness is used to excuse harm which only makes it worse. You can be hardworking, decent, kind, and accommodating; it does not matter. The system does not care.
Fartley loves to drive, especially race cars!
He's very happy you had a long drive!
Quit whining like a child. If you don't like it find another job or move closer to home!
@f2 I know what they mean, I don’t understand it, like racism, just rebadged, maybe that’s the point.
@f3 did you really even work today? I mean on work things not the house chores, you’re not 7, this wasn’t a snow day.
@f2 My wife calls it "the bubble" too, we love it.
@f1 No one cares that you stayed until 7.
@eh I don't think you understand what DEI or woke mean outside of your little conservative bubble which tells you rheu mean "anything you don't like".
OP: grow up! There is no point in leaving at 5. I stuck around the left the office at 7. Easy Peezy.
@eg Yeah, but you are the grunts. You're supposed to go in. If you were smarter, you'd have a better job.
@ej The place is a fu--ing lunatic asylum, run by the nuttiest patients.
JF is a clown. He will go down along with BF as the ones who lost $19bn (capital B) for something nobody wanted. BF I understand he is a trust fund baby.. gene pull did him a big favor.. but JF the smartest guy in the room just ask him.. Stand up take a bow for what you did not do... Let's hear applause... Clap for yourself JF.. $19BN.. Studies showed you clowns at the top these EV investments were a mistake.. but don't worry I am sure you will get your $20mn in stock options..Oh and btw.. Tired of you claiming BF says this is the smartest management team.. Did he tell you that in 06 he was fired by his own family? I guess he left that part out.. Same year he was booed at a Red Wings game. Keep running up the debt.. That along with making excuses is the only thing you have done... Under your wisdom we lost market share, left market segments, quality in the toilet.. Yeah be really proud of that.. If I was a hedge fund manager I would dump the stock.. for the past 7yrs Ford has not demonstrated confidence at the top level ..
Driving to work, dealing with weather, sharing bathrooms, and being around other people is not trauma, it’s employment. RTO didn’t invent inconvenience. It just exposed how many people confuse personal discomfort with a corporate failure. Constant complaining isn’t courage or advocacy; it’s avoidance. The woke/DEI ideology must stop, and the snowflakes must be held accountable for their actions. I've heard HR is fed up with the stupid complaints. I wonder if they realize they were the ones who first embraced the culture, I'm sure they regret it.
I’m here to do a job. If that environment feels unbearable, that’s your signal to make a change, not to turn every minor inconvenience into a grievance. Grow up.
Stop whining. How about all those hours you saved by not taking a shower in the morning and sitting in your stinky pajamas and not driving to work for 5 years. I was salaried (now retired, thankfully) and many of us in testing went back when the hourly people did. So, stop whining...
I'm not joking, it took me 3 hours to get home yesterday...normal commute is 50-60 minutes.
@d3 And the rest of us who are carrying the company put in more and don't try and put people down for not being at their desk. The only correct take here is, if you find it inconvenient to get into work due to weather, then talk to your people leader and get a WFH day, the shut up and do your work. If you want to go into the office, fine, shut up and do your work. End of thread.
I dont belive he or anyone else on that level thinks about that at all.
The train station event is a great excuse. Ford Racing is the #1 priority, just ask Farley and just tell your LL6 that you volunteered to man the hot cocoa stand at the train station.
@d2 some of us put in an effort
Is this an issue? Just WFH and notify your people leader. It's not against the rules to WFH occasionally. And people who think they're special because they come into the office are weird. It's a job, not an identity. Shut up, get your work done - you aren't special because you're at a desk.
@cy silly children.
JF will apologize profusely for forcing you to live in Michigan and have to drive to work in the snow. Oh the horrors!
This take is d-mber than a bag of hammers. Thanks for the laugh.
The corktown slasher nor the drunk trucker came through today so I did about 90 on i75 and was home in under 25 minutes.
Unfortunately those who abused the hybrid model have ruined it for those who didn’t. Blame the slackers not the company.
@ag Skipped dinner myself, happy and healthy new year!
@a7 I agree with your perspective. If you work for an automaker, it’s advisable to at least use a product that most of your customers use multiple times a day.
you work for a car company and you complain about driving.. and you wonder why Ford has the record recall... look at yourself in the mirror and there is the answer.
Just think of all the accidents and new car sales! Win! Win!
