Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Asterisk Tedious & Temporary (AT&T)

“To create connection* – with each other, with what people need to thrive in their everyday lives, and with stories and experiences that matter.”

  • Our company’s product enables people to do anything they want from anywhere in the world at anytime of day or night - and to prove it, we require our employees to suffer lengthy commutes into dangerous parts of town in aging buildings 5 days a week to join their Teams call from their desk. We call this “Collaboration”.

“Run the business as if it was your own.” This sentiment predates Stankey and Stephenson. Market VPGMs used to speak about this to grow the business. I don’t care where you sit, I just care that you are adding value. Sitting in an office checking emails and complaining about WFH is no way to grow the business. Give people priorities and measurable goals in January (not April) and check in and hold them accountable. No measurable goal? Laying them off makes more sense than geography or seating preference. Go big or go home.

@e4 you bootlickers are the same ones knob slobbering in the comments on Insider with every lame video and other piece of excr-ment thrown up there: “ Awesome!!! So proud to be a part of this AT&T family!!!!”

Here’s the thing, you brown nosers….there is no “good” list you’re being put on for that. They don’t care. And you look so utterly foolish. Have some self respect. I’m embarrassed for you.

@dq you would call over 70% of the company atypical? You’re a mo--n lol. You realize there was no 5 day mandate and tracking before the pandemic right? You just went in the office when you had to be in.

@df

Would call that "atypical."

Now, job requirements are changing. You can either adapt and evolve or find a other company.

Blame your colleagues for ruining the party. Everyone is sick of hearing you crybabies complain. Boo hoo! Wah wah wah!

At least you still have jobs...
On a layoff board...

@d4 what about the decade I worked from home before Covid? What would you call that?

When are the RTO zealots going to stop the madness? There is not going to be a WFH push ever. That was needed for a Pandemic. It is no longer needed.

"WFH freedom fighters are on limited time."

Actually, real estate as overhead (office space) is on "limited time". Once head count is reduced to the target level the company will have to look for more ways to gain efficiency verses their competitors, and look at other areas of overhead to cut. AT&T is nothing more than a commodity now. All commodities eventually compete through perceived value. Unnecessary real estate will be the target. That is why Stankey's Folley in Plano will doom him to the absolute worst CEO EVER . . . another buy high, sell low fiasco by Stankey. Right now the pendulum is swinging against the employee, but everything changes.

WFH freedom fighters are on limited time. Whining and sniveling won't change the fact that we are all battling future changes in the workforce. Many people are looking to replace you this very moment fighting normal office obligations and if you don't offer anything using your hands you will be replaced in a few years no matter how brilliant you are with your mind. Hear me now and believe me later

“ See ya on the commute! “

You’re boring everyone.

Stretch that GED to its limits and let’s try and come up with something new, shall we?

@aa "welcome back to collaboration and teaming up in the office"

Welcome back to fighting for your desk each day and joining Teams calls with people across the room from you in the office.

Fixed your sentence for you, douc*er.

Just work as prescribed 9-5 M-F. A lot of you took advantage and worked between morning golf and afternoon tennis times timeslots after Covid and forgot what working normal hours are. Many canceled daycare and started bringing your older kids to and from school on company time. Human nature to do so but welcome back to collaboration and teaming up in the office. Has been done for over a century. You had to abuse the freedom, didn't yall?

Remote work WILL eventually be 100% for office workers... may be as long as 5 or 10 yrs, but why doesnt "t" jump ahead of the competition and go virtual. Isnt this a communications company? Demonstrate your product and leap ahead of VZ.

Given the choice, most people would not like to work for a living.

But, gotta pay the bills.

See ya on the commute! Meet me at the water cooler to complain.

Lol. Crybabies.
