@ea you act like you don’t know that remote existed before covid. Maybe because you couldn’t get it then and jealous now. I’m not going to any office, with or without Paramount.

Apparently the streaming team in NY got an email about delayed RTO for their teams because the building agile setup wont be ready in time. This Jan. 5 RTO is just a complete farce.

@eb He's also the guy that microwaves fish at the office. Without a doubt.

@ea you must be the same id--t that thinks going into an office means you’re working? What are you a dinosaur?

@an you act like people never worked in an office together? It’s only been the last 5 years people have been too lazy to go to work. If you don’t want to go to work that is fine. The company will continue with or without you. Probably better with out your negativity

Before March end we will get to know and possibly the last week of RTO phase 2 employees working week is Phase2 of layoffs!

@af I found it interesting that when DE took over, the media ran an article that there was going to be a "bloodbath" of layoffs at Paramount in Nov. A week later DE announces the RTO mandate where the last day for those choosing to leave was Oct 31st.
And afterward they laid off the rest to reach their total number.

THIS is the evidence that RTO was a way to get to their layoff number without making all those hard decisions. Problem is, the company cant now say ok, we can do 2-3 days moving forward. They HAVE to stick to the official RTO decision. And itll work for the first few weeks, but people will get used to working remote when they have to...and one day remote a week will turn into 2 days, sometimes 3. The first one will be the hardest. When you realize your manager is not giving you fluff about it, and your manager is also taking days, itll get easier to do. Wait till the first good snow/ice storm in January and see how many actually come in from Jersey. lol.

News flash: David Ellison and his senior "leadership" team have no idea. No idea about RTO. No idea about office space. No idea about television. No idea about streaming. No idea about journalism. No idea about teambuilding. No idea about morale. No idea about ANYTHING.

They're making all of it up as they go along. But as usual, as soon as they think they have an answer, the actual employees will be the LAST to know.

Nobody really knows beyond DG's ostensibly softer tone on RTO for remote workers from the recent Fireside Chat.

Personally, I'm in the same camp with many others who believe the harsh RTO/severance thing was indeed a strategy to get as many people to leave on their own accord as possible. Pretty gross, really.
