Stuck between hating the job and needing it badly

Judging from my immediate surroundings, most people feel the same way. Fear makes us all trip over ourselves to perform, as if that’s somehow going to save our jobs. It’s a frigging trap. Every time I lost a job before, I regretted wasting so much energy trying to prove myself. And here I am, doing the same stupid thing all over again.

@OP
You apparently keep getting stuck at doing the same stupid thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Some call that insanity.
Problem solving 101 really...

Welcome to adulthood. You work a job you either hate or tolerate (if you're lucky) until you retire or die. Apparently somebody's little angel didnt get this explained to them as a child so now they whine about how unfair life is that they aren't getting paid to play video games and sit on their couch all day. Grow up.

AI Overview

    Hypercapitalism describes an extreme, pervasive form of capitalism where market logic and commodification seep into every aspect of life, turning culture, relationships, and even human experience into purchasable goods, driven by intense global flows, deregulation, and constant consumption, often criticized for fostering inequality, exploitation, and eroding well-being in favor of corporate profit, as seen in the works of scholars like Marxist critics and authors like Larry Gonick and Tim Kasser.
    Key Characteristics
    Commodification of Everything: Not just goods, but services, data, personal experiences, and even human biology become monetized.
    Intense Global Flows: Rapid movement of capital, information, and goods across borders.
    Erosion of Boundaries: The line between commercial interests and personal life blurs; culture becomes subsumed by commerce.
    Extreme Deregulation: A shift towards laissez-faire capitalism with minimal government intervention, as discussed by critics.
    Focus on Consumption: Creates a culture of relentless demand, where individual worth is tied to material acquisition and career success, leading to increased loneliness and dissatisfaction.

Many realize nothing you do will improve your position more than job switching. Shrimping combined with elevated dr-g and alcohol use like Lieutenant Dan in Forest Gump is also a riskier option.
