Word around Buffalo is we’re about to have massive layoffs. My neighbor even asked me about it. Anyone know when they will hit?

@qp6 what does the bank even use for "AI" other than co-pilot?
@OP Where would your neighbor have heard that? Regarding layoffs, the bank was definitely putting things into place at the end of last year to justify firing people for cause, but there are other areas just blatantly firing people. This was being set up when using Co-Pilot was still new so the greed you're seeing in companies demonstrate, including M&T, from the "productivity gains" AI is supposed to deliver, is just another convenient excuse to fire people. The CFO must be compensated on eliminating spend (and what's more expensive than having to pay people!)
Im thinking by September there will be huge layoff due to AI cutting 50% manual process.
Better give a good severance package.
