Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Time to clean out your desk, or drop your car stock off at the office.

This is not getting better. Time to get out and cut your losses. Nothing is going to change for the better. They have had their chances to do this. Never happened.

At least over the Christmas / New Years holiday you have time to retool and reassess what you want to do.

There is no logical reason under the sun to stay here. Because sooner or later you will be affected and simply be a casualty of this industry.

Make the decision to leave, your decision not theirs. At least you get out with that decency.

Not the place to be guys. Times up totally. The writing has been on the walls for a long time. Sometimes it just takes someone to tell you to read what was written and understand it.

No gold medals for staying here. Just swift kick in the head with an iron boot.

Common sense, work ethic, and loyalty to a company that takes care of the employees. That’s what’s missing from
The world today.

Xerox is missing all 3 completely.

Staying at XRX is fine as long as you do not have to work and are ok losing the job without notice. If you are close to 50, and need a paycheck, you really need to look now. Resumes of people 50 and over are going straight into the trash can these days.

Okay then. Stay. But you are the people that will cry foul first once the walls come tumbling down. Retiring from xerox now is nothing to write home about.

The less you have to do with this grossly mismanaged company, the better.
But of course, you know everything and no one can tell you anything. So it shall be. Sometimes you need to let kids make their own mistakes….apparently so.
Shaking my head at the superior intelligence and intellect. Not. 🚫

@h6 and me, over 45 and earning the best money I can until the end (which I have heard for the last 10 years)

I’m still staying too. Your lame metaphors are never going to convince me otherwise. They are a poor attempt in every post. Give it up trying to sound smart. You’re not fooling anyone.

Childish humor is still free at xerox.

Totally worth staying if you’re 45 + and scared to do anything …

You’re not retiring at 50. You still have years to work at a better company, of any size shape or form, to make money.

Right now …. This is Blood money. When the bleeding stops so does the money, and also your employment.

Survival of the people left is apparently now the prime directive. Remember that.

@cq The talent is gone. All that is left are a bunch of terrified 45+ aged people, terrified to make a move and holding on for dear life. I get it, but it’s tough to watch.

You people are slower than molasses to see the issues here. It’s sad.
What triggered the issues?
Cumulative insanely bad decisions.

But they nudge you along a bit at a time, so you don’t notice so much. At some point you know you’re in a jet headed for the desert floor with no pilot.
If you don’t leave and take a chance, you’re totally toast.

To expect this company to turn around and become an industry giant again, is a complete fallacy and pipe dream.

Can’t believe tech power houses aren’t snapping up xerox talent... maybe they are looking at this site and saying, “uh, Nope!”

Next will be the “tin-plated” dictators comment. Just like the same tech likes to put in other threads on the Ricoh, Konica and Canon layoff threads. Such a weird guy. I picture him looking like a man baby. Lol

The posts on this site are negative for good reason, but what is triggering the clean out your desk proclamations and similar lately?
Not picking a fight just want to know what people are seeing besides what we’ve seen all year.

@bh Stevie cannot do that until he gets a few more bonuses. Gotta pretend until he has enough to retire. No real company will ever hire him so he will be done.

Wish they would just hurry up and get on with it. There is no recovery. There is no strategy. There is no Plan b so let’s just admit we are bankrupt, wind the company up, use what cash there is to provide severance (but not to the EC and SLT who got us here) and everyone can get on with a better life.

@ap It’s not the job market. It’s the xerox on your CV... Try keeping skills & accomplishments via xerox to one line and smaller font. Focus on Interests & Hobbies section.

@ap agreed. Tons of ghosting and companies having no fu--ing intention of hiring. The market is sh--e and it’s clear to see. Stay positive - something will come about.

yeah well... unfortunately, 100+ applications later without a single bite, it looks like I'm stuck here for a while. The job market is trash.

For those 50+ and able to consider an early retirement, the best option is to ride it to the end.
