Someone I know discovered they were out only because their credentials stopped working mid-morning. No conversation, no thank you, not even a quick call. I never heard of something like this happening before. He has no reason to lie to me, though. This has me more worried than ever.

@ax HR is in on the plan, they are instructed this is what were doing, and most of the time they take about 3 months to get back to you if they need to consult with a corporate lawyer, they might not even get back to you. What I did was file a case with EEOC and have them release my records to them, they investigate and you go from there. Filing with the EEOC is a online process and can be done if your still employeed, or you signed a release agreement under stress. I am a former HR representive because I refused to follow instructions I knew was wrong. I wasnt brought up to be immoral. What comes around goes around, the old saying, good luck to all.
I was let go today from Westborough office. They consider it a fire. Met rating during mid-year review in July. No written or verbal warnings and no PIP. Hadn't gotten my year end review, assuming it was forced ranking of below so they wouldn't have to pay out SUB Pay on 14 years of service, but did not state a reason for the termination, only that I am terminated. I have contacted a lawyer and will post an update once I speak with them.
I've seen this happen to a co-worker..turned out to be a tech glitch..nothing surprises me at this place, but I would contact the help desk first before jumping to any conclusions

@OP they did this same sh-t to people early in my career here. People went to lunch, cane back and were locked out and terminated with no notice
I cant say Im surprised. Bny has become disgusting with how they are treating employees. Right down to falsifying ratings and termianting bah staff wjo were forced that status due to them closing locations. Tell him dont let them get away with it. They have to notify. Create a ticket with hr and then take legal action
