After years of top performance and multiple company awards, being labeled a ‘low performer’ during a severance call was surprising and discouraging. The lack of appreciation, combined with sudden goal increases and new write-up policies tied to severance eligibility, made the process feel more like pressure than professionalism.

No one can still give clarity as to what factors went into the choice of who got severenced. For the specialists, I get. But, what about the rest of us? It’s all favoritism and who’s drinking the JD kool aid. Heaven forbid we “break down barriers” and treat our teams like legit humans. The more and more I have time to reflect, we were all pawns in this game. They don’t give two sh*ts about us.
Verizon is doing everything it can to make itself viable for a sale ASAP. 2026 will be a disaster for the company. There isn't enough workforce to build and maintain the network to a standard where customers will pay more than every other carrier. When the discount runs out for the rif'd employees in 4Q26, the company will lose 100,000+ lines. The only reason they extended the discount was to avoid that loss this 4Q. If the layoffs continue as they say, this company will be sold to an investment group by end of 2Q to be sold of piece by peice.
The best was when I was told to " take a minute or two to gather my thoughts before I go back to the sales floor" . Yea... F you and the sales floor!
There is no appreciation. There is no loyalty. This is not a career. Verizon is not stable. We all are fake important. Cheaters win.

Script or not, OP is on point. It was distasteful and lacked respect or humility. Further proved we are all just a number. Heaven forbid you asked a question that would cause them to go off script. The guy was just on repeat. It’s a pretty terrible feeling to be honest.
