Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Home for the Holidays

The last few years in the Vz meatgrinder has taken a toll on my mental and physical health so I’ve decided to spend the remaining days of December eating, drinking, recharging and enjoying time with family and friends. I’ll start the job search in 2026. 🎅 ☃️ 🎁

@OP - Bad move. You'll likely have plenty of time on your hands during your job search to rest & recover.

Market is flooded with guys just like ypu ( i.e., similar resumes and skill sets) so I wouldn't wait to launch your job search.

Are you nuts? Dont wait, the opportunity you could miss is one you are not looking for. I took first VSP and hit the ground looking for a job..others waited then Covid hit and jobs dried up. You will relax better knowing you have a new role

The silver lining of getting RIF this time of year is that companies aren't hiring anyway in Dec.

So you can take time to relax and enjoy the holidays with friends and family. Then start the job search in 2026.

The upside of getting laid off … you can take some time to decompress while still collecting a paycheck or severance. Enjoy the time with your family!
