GVP Position Eliminated

It’s getting harder to survive in a GVP role. Now with the elimination of a GVP role (mid-atlantic) that’s more work for an already strained team. Dilute the support, dilute relationships and dilute the outcome! :(

@1xw That sounds too much too logical for these people. They run the stores like the corner CVS store - not like the unique, complex operation that each store is, so vital to the organization, connecting Follett to campus faculty, students and leadership. Nope, EK and JRC pay these store leaders and staff a pittance, slash resources then belittle them harshly during company meetings for the inevitable outcomes of the staff reductions that THEY created! While expecting even more! Work harder! The worst leadership this company has ever hired. They don't pay vendors timely but the numerous shipment holds are not the fault of their poor decisions. The blame lands on
anyone and everyone but the real decision-makers. PLEASE bring in real leadership!

The GVP position should be eliminated and shift the resources to customer facing roles in the field. GVPs serve a redundant role that costs valuable resources that cause more busy work in the form of additional emails, dog and pony shows that detract from customer focused tasks at the store level, and detached visits with campus contacts that does nothing to build campus relations. Campuses are only interested in actual service provided to students and faculty. Larger stores should devote a position solely for campus relations and smaller stores should provide more associates on the sales floor to free up store managers so they can interact with their school’s business and faculty contacts.

Free up some cash for some more SVP’s and EVP’s in the Ivory Tower?
Prep work for JRC divesting itself from the black hole formerly known as FHEG?
