Super first world problem here - I still have a job, so I’m happy about that BUT…
I work in mortgage. We recently found out in 2023 only 10% is allowed out on PTO per day. That is 1 person per team. If another person requests, they will look at my 2 ups teams to see if there is availability (not to exceed 10% per manager). In the event there is more than 10%, an exception needs to be sent to my 3 up and never will more than 20% be allowed gone.
How is this even sustainable? With the amount of PTO most have, it will be nearly impossible for everyone to take their time off. Not to mention this is just going to encourage people to look at the approved calendar, realize how many are off and call in. Great business plan .
