Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

G12 RSU and raises

Came in as a G12 employee through a Cisco acquisition. The first year was simply aligning the base pay and bonus to match Cisco. The second year, got full 18% bonus, $45K RSU but no base pay increase.

How is Cisco with G12 comp? Are there annual RSU refreshers and/or base pay increases?

I've also seen posts about how G12 are generally at a higher risk for layoffs. With the company pushing for margins it's making me anxious.

Yeah 180 for G12 is crazy low. Heck I’m a G10 and I make that much in base.

Cisco doesn’t have a stable G12 workforce culture. Few years back they promoted bunch of these to Principal Architect/Engineers before shoving them out the door. Most folks stay at G9, 10 or may be 11 and do regular work. This is my advice been there, done that at G12 for many years before getting out. Leadership is skeptical on this role unless delivering top notch performance and outcomes, not just augmented support to team. You will find out as you navigate around. Good luck and keep us updated. You have found a place to discuss and discover things and ideas that no one else will tell you anonymously.

If you are really comp sensitive, just get out of Cisco.

People who stay at Cisco do so for the laid-back lifestyle. This is why Cisco's workforce trends older...most of these folks already made their $$$ somewhere else and are just on a glide path now.

If you are younger, willing to grind, and good at your job, you can easily double your pay by leaving.

You will soon figure out that grinding at Cisco is not rewarded.

As a G12 you dont see significant raises. You should be seeing close to 100K RSUs though

Pay raise may be once in 3 years. You won’t get pay raise every year. All depends on your BU profits and company earnings.

Tribalism, Groupism, politics and your group’s importance will decide your future pay and compensation.

Work hard and focus on results !! Work like G12 !

Make sure you delivery on G12 blueprints else it’s all downhill from here. Think what you deliver that a G10 or G11 can’t.
