We only have a handful of positions and it's been ridiculously hard to hire. Anyone else have this issue? We've hired 1 or 2 that never showed. People have the worst resumes if they have one at all and some don't want to work the weekend! Hellooooo - it's retail. BOH is about the cushiest schedule you can get! Days only and not past 5 pm in my store.
I used to think the 'no one wants to work' wasn't true but now I know differently!

Cream pays more and tips too. With underperformed stores closing. less h/r-payroll/ buyers less corporate people etc needed up the stores payroll give store assoc a raise if there are less people in stores ringing sales in register putting out mdse no need for anyone in corporate office. Store assoc are backbone of macy
You get what you pay for !!! which is basically 0000 zero. Macy should shut down under preforming store. Raise pay for existing stores give an upgrade in store environment. But we know that won't happen. It goes into pockets of ceo and pals private planes etc why work at macy no training you are left to fend for yourself. Oops forgot you get hours of classes on computer worthless
Why would any one want to start a person want to start working at macy the pay is horrible poverty level in Ca you make more $$per hr at a fast food for the most part customers treat you like cr-p. They feel they have entitlement to bring their kids and make a mess. Bring dogs p-e/po-p all over drop clothes on floor. Run fast Macy's needs to think of employees
Our entire seasonal team of BOH is AWFUL. All bad hires over the phone. Can't wait for them to be gone.

Same here. We started hiring these positions very late, Oct week 4 and have only filled 60% and yet the picks are significantly higher than the rof. Unless we quickly get these slots hired it’s going to be a difficult stretch.
BOH is hard to fill because its alot of dirty work. Its cold 🥶 on the dock and these younger kids can't handle it. We had one who started first day unloading truck. It was a cold very windy day she quit by lunchtime
