Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

As a contractor

If you RIFD, may we come as a contractor to Verizon with some vendor and there are no regulations to return?

Yes as long as you weren't problem or threat. Normally you have to be separated for 6 months. Then you could get hired through a company that may already be working for Verizon and they can pi-p you out through something like field glass or you could become a scope of work contractor and they'll pay your new company through their capital projects.

For a standard riff, you’ll be eligible for internal (Verizon employee) or contractor positions after 6 months.

That being said, I’m not sure if you’ll regain your tenure / vacation time if rehired as a Verizon employee.

Historically there was a cooling off period of 6 or 12 months before you could return. Not sure if that applies any more.
