Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

I’ve never been more worried about my job

I’m afraid the holiday season will flop, and things will only get worse from there. Jobs are scarce, most of us have little to no savings, and there’s nothing to fall back on if it really hits hard. Maybe I’m anxious for no reason, but the vibe has never felt worse in my memory.

Sales are up across the entire enterprise both Macys, Bloomies, etc but everyone on here is doom and gloom constantly. Bunch of weirdo dorks.

Sales are good right now! If you are good at your job and perform to expectations you will be fine. Don’t let people pull you down with unsubstantiated rumors. I think most of the people on this site don’t even work there any more…just spreading Macys hate.

Just go visit the job tree and pick a better job, bro.

All joking aside, keep your spirits up, try to keep an eye on other opportunities. Don't let the stress get to you!

Try to skill up. Take courses at a local community college to gain certifications. You have time. Don’t let Macy’s dictate all of your time. Set boundaries so you may prepare for the future. Gaining additional skills will put you in the best position possible. There is a life after Macy’s

Always keep other options …You can still work and interview for other jobs see what’s out there. Be grateful you have a job when a lot of people out there are homeless. Don’t pay attention to negative Nancy comments…to them I say, how you treat others will come to bite you in the a-s! God sees and reads all!
