I’m thinking at least a year in this economy.

Depends on how old you are.
Took me 5 months
I took severance last year. Took me about 8 months. Most are still looking that left with me, like 90% and it’s been a year already. Even if you have the fattest resume you’ll find it’s a Verizon resume most companies don’t give a bleep and AI runs the resume systems now for almost everyone so you get filtered out pretty quick.
My advice saying all that, stick with it and treat it like a job and you will find something. Also, at least for me my new company is head and shoulders above Verizon’s culture. I sleep way better now a days. There is life after Big Red and it is so much better. Wishing all of you the best of luck but once you leave that toxic you will be so happy you did.
Apply for a union job in the telecommunications sector and it might be quicker.
Best of luck.
With your value and what you bring to the table, maybe more?
Atleast you can easily explain why you’re looking for a new job :(
