Nothing against them, but I am just not part of that program anymore. I have my job, I do it well, then I go home. I get along with everyone except for the jerk or two that can't get fired due to the 10 step program that Wells can't seem to get past the first step.
I love to hang out and socialize after work and during work (when time permits). i get to know who are the people behind the emails and projects. Though last few years - that’s all changed. We setup a time and no one shows up. People are more into themselves and their wants these days and expanding and evolving socially.
If you're in the office, do happy hours over lunchtime. Then sober back up in the afternoon in time for the drive home. You guys at the Minneapolis NOC have Rick's Cabaret right across the street. 8-)
To each their own, but I'm morally opposed, not interested in a promotion, and have more then enough work to do. If I'm working, I'm working, if I'm not I'm with family. "RTO" has already done to much damage to work life balance, I'm not going to waste any more family time hanging out with drunks.
We do that during business hours but at the end of the business day. So we knock off early for the day. I never attend. I have no interest in moving up. No one has ever said anything to me. I like it that way, not attending, and not hearing about it. And I just got a nice merit increase and bonus.

My marketing group is run by a burned out old hack who lives to drink - and hates to drink alone. He only promotes his drinking buddies. Luckily I don’t want a promotion, because it would mean reporting to him directly.
Love this! I do not and will not socialize with any WF people. I have better things to do with my time. And much better people to be around...
Literally do not ever invite me to drink with any of you. I will say no to your face.
I do not like anyone in WF enough to be forced to hang out after hours. And if I do, I will set it up myself
Funny story.
Back in the day, two mergers prior to WF, in SAT (Wiseman Campus), we had title companies and foreclosure attorney firms trying to schmooze their way into getting business from us. They'd invite anyone willing to attend after work for happy hour at a hotel bar nearby. This happened pretty often.
It was all fun and games until someone got into a car accident after leaving the bar...and then it was over.
BTW, he wasn't injured in the accident.
