For those saying numbers are no longer used, they just changed the titles. Still five categories used to rate with a maximum and a minimum. I personally still utilize numbering to share with the team an idea of how close they are to the next rating. Ie: you got a meets but we’re 3.8 in my heart.
Received a needs improvement, went home and showed my husband and then received some di-k. Turns out, this matters more.
I received a 1 and got a 5% raise.
What year are you talking about? Number ratings no longer exist. Why be a l1ar?
Newsflash, annual performance should be (per policy and approach) much more highly tied to variable compensation (aka incentive/bonus) than salary increases. Elven if we call them “merit increases” it’s really just a pool of money that is whatever they determine the COI rate is, times the combined salaries of the team, plus a little extra for promotions if you are lucky.
They rob Peter of 2% (because they gave him an inconsistently meets) to pay Paul 4%.
If they can avoid raising salary for this year’s performance, and paying it out every year after, by raising the bonus by the same amount for 1 year, when it’s not guaranteed every year after, why wouldn’t they?
Stirring the pot…. Cute!
fake news, no number ratings at all
We’re no longer usually “1-5” ratings.
No
Are you already above the maximum pay for your position?
