I see a posting for my friend. It just shows a pay range. Nothing on bonus percentage. Does this mean the pay range includes the bonus or the bonus is totally discretionary is not included. Wish there were additional data on bonus in the job description

Promoted in Feb to a role that would have upped target to 35% under old titles. Instead I got less than last year, with the same rating.
I went up two levels in October and got a bonus based on my old role (which was significantly lower). They wrote my October role change as my merit increase. It’s fine since it’s better than nothing, but I was a bit irritated. It should have been prorated.

I was recently hired into a new role, my offer letter stated I was eligible for “annual variable target compensation under the Wells Fargo Bonus Plan”. I was verbally told by the recruiter what the target percentage was. They still exist of course, it’s just hush hush.
side question - do they list bonus number in offer letter now? just curious how the bonus was communicated with new hires.
For the thousands time on the board. Base pay only bonus are discretionary. Targe Bonus ranges were eliminated a year ago. Totally manager/dept discretionary.
