I got an exceeds and mid year salary adjustment

I got a mid year adjustment of 20% to match an offer letter end of june. Found out Friday I got an exceeds in my review but she was not able to talk about salary until next week. Will I get shafted on my merit increase?

corp guidance is that anyone with a mid-year adjustment (promo or just a raise) of more than $20-25k will get zero as merit.

@1fbb+1kOxECxg This is generally correct. There are a few exceptions but, for the most part, the total value of year end is in a tight range for a whole team. When I was a manager my manager had us calculate the $$ value of merit and add $$ value of bonus. Except for the low performers everyone was in a tight range.

They do prioritize more merit to people lower in the pay range. So if you’re higher in the same range as a coworker you’re likely to get lower merit but higher bonus and they would get the reverse. The total dollars paid to each of you will be close if you’re rating is the same. If your rating is higher you’ll get 1-2% more bonus.

This was the formula for years.

You won’t get much merit increase because there is probably someone else on your team that is underpaid and your merit money will go to them.

No one really knows but the way greedy corporations work, one would ascertain yes but it may not be the case. Don’t have expectations and you won’t be disappointed. Good job on your rating.

I gotta hear why the door to the cell was open and you pulled it shut for 20%.

I received a mid-cycle pay adjustment of just under 18% two years ago due to an Exceeds.

I am in a similar situation and not expecting a merit increase despite an exceeds rating. I do expect to get a good bonus.

Just wait three days. Why ask such a subjective question that's specific to you?
