I'm a low performer. I admit it.
I used to be a high performer, but everything that I needed to do my job has either been taken away or is now burred under mountains of red-tape.
I couldn't be a high performer now if I wanted to be. They simply won't allow it. Now, I just go with the flow, and let things burn. Nothing I can do about it anymore. If they don't care, then I don't care.

Weird. I work from home, usually wear flops/sneakers, shorts, a tee, and a baseball cap (I don't do my hair post-workout), and received both an Exceeds and a promotion last year.

You appear to be lumping everyone on this site into the same category. There are people who come to this site for different reasons, and while some people may appear to visit for the sole purpose of creating animosity, that is not true for everyone who visits the site. Additionally, someone might be a high performer, and still voice opinions that you might think are "nonsense."
You might also be in a high salary position, and comfortable with where you are, but have you taken the time to really look at what is going on around you? It's ok to disagree with people, but you might want to consider a different communication strategy.
