Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

2 week notice period

If you find a position at another bank and give your 2 weeks notice, does Wells let you actually finish out that notice period now?

It used to be that if you were going to a competitor, you were dismissed immediately, but that doesn't seem to be an actual policy that I can find.

Anyone with recent experience with this?

I got around this by not telling them I didn't want to say where I'm heading next. They legally can't make you tell them what your next company/job is.

Left back in the fall. Gave 2.5 weeks of active notice and then another 2 work while I burned PTO, but checked email in case there were any questions. Mostly want to make it less bad for my teammates left behind to pick up my work.

To really hammer the point home - quit on payday when you see the bonus in your account. They can’t pull it back. Also, use up floating holidays and personal holidays before any PTO. PTO has to be paid out, personal holidays do not. Floating holidays can be used ANY time.

Just don't give them a 2 weeks notice. Problem solved.

Would your manager give YOU a two weeks notice.....?

@okp+1kEOUOMb exactly! If my interviews do work out and I accept an offer, the new company already knows that I cannot give notice until 2/4. If I get a bonus, I won't be scheduling a talk with my manager until it's been direct deposited AND I've transferred it elsewhere. You know, just in case they try to pull something unethical

Be difficult and argumentative when you resign. Offer to work 2 weeks despite your disdain for the shitbaggy company. If you offer to work 2 weeks and they decline…they have to pay you. Oh, and use up all those floating holidays before you quit…even floaters in Nov and Dec can be taken right away. Save your PTO for a payout.

Depending on the team and its management, they may escort you out immediately due to fears of sabotage.

Put in your notice for 2 weeks after your bonus posts in your bank account. They will tell you to leave immediately. You will still get the 2 week check.

Just be careful, don't give your two weeks notice if you intend to set your last day as being after bonuses. I have a job offer but won't be giving my notice until my bonus is in my account. I don't trust the management here at all, thank goodness I'm out of here soon.

Don't tell them where you are going - I worked out my last 2 weeks cause I wanted to make sure my team was covered and knowledge transferred.

Depends if you are client-facing or support. When I put in my notice my access was shut down in hours and I received 2 weeks of PTO before starting at my current bank.

They made me work out my two weeks.
That’s better than my previous company that asked me to work overtime the last day of my two weeks. 🤦‍♂️

I am in the middle of 2 interviews with 2 different banks. I am expecting offers from each sometime next month. I will give two weeks notice to Wells Fargo once I accept on of these offers.

Reputation important to bourgeoisie
From fake diverse interviews to showering others with "P"
Once you lose face
Getting it back is a race
Cause with it comes more gov scruitiny

So many violations they make
Unpaid labor to accounts that they fake
Its almost like bank
shut down no mistake
There is no way to fix this rat snake

Step back and think up some crime
Wells Fargo will have committed in time
The lawsuits and courts they are packed
With so many this bank it has racked
Should be unsuprising when it is run by sl--e

Depends if your manager is a jerk or not. I've seen managers have the person work out the notice only to torment them to see if they could get them to walk.

It would depend on the position you are in. For most positions they would let you work the 2 weeks. I think investment bankers are dismissed immediately.

If you are giving 2 weeks then you are probably not essential.

Not usually - not unless you are absolutely essential
