Negotiating bonus and raise? Is it possible?

So one on one meetings are occurring within the next few weeks, has a team member ever been successful in requesting a larger bonus and/or higher raise? Or once it’s done it’s done, just accept and move on?

I would say that is a hard no. Nothing is always or never but they will tell you right up front how hard they had to campaign to get you that big 1% you received. They are your angles. That is the talking points they had out

I’m not going to make a blanket statement saying something has always occurred a certain way 100% of the time in every instance. But generally speaking there isn’t any room for negotiating year end comp discussions. Unless you’ve got another job offer in hand you can show them, but that could serve as leverage for a potential raise any time of the year, if they want to keep you. But unless you’re actively ready to walk out the door to another opportunity, what other reason would they have to just give you more money? Because you asked nicely?

Is there a way to view the compensation range? I know the compensation grade is visible, but I don’t see a source for the range.

Well, yes and no. Yes that it's possible on a raise, not really bonus, but you are late. You needed to start those conversations about 3-6 months ago. The raises and bonuses are already set and hopefully they pass board and Charlie over the next two weeks.

It is possible to start working your manager now for a mid year raise. You definitely need to have your ducks in a row. Treat it almost as if your interviewing for your job. Discuss highlights, your strengths, skills, etc. Almost like pitching a sale to a client

It definitely can happen at least for raise.
Firstly how is you current base comparing to your title's pay range?
lower end? ok then you need a strategy for your conversation with your manager. I would think the most important should be the impact of your work(here is what I accomplished and here is the impact of my work). Or just ask I wanna a raise what do i need to get there and let's have a monthly check and see how it goes on next year's compensation conversation.
honestly there are many factors involved try your best at least. This is also a good way to test if they are good leaders who you can trust. Good luck.

The bonus is not negotiable- the amount is determined months in advance of the payout. Just be grateful you are getting one at all because it is not guaranteed. Good luck on the raise... have you seen the number of layoffs in our industry? Someone is waiting to take your job as soon as you leave.
