Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The confirmed strategy

Just in this week they are laying off as many blue badge technicians as possible to replace them with green batches, multiple managers confirmed

Just go looking for jobs and you see "semi-conductor or any city intel fabs are in" are the key words, no perks or severence payouts saves intel plenty $$

This is the trick to not paying benefits to blue badge technicians and exploit contractors for short term profit gain.

Im in ENG. Many Engineers are less knowledgeable and even skillful than many of the techs sadly.

H1B Visa holders are he-l bent on staying in America they’ll throw you under the bus and steal credit/not attribute credit. They’ll do to keep that visa. Steer clear. They’re slowly overpopulating from India in HUGE numbers.

@bf Imagine getting an entire engineering degree just to be responsible for acknowledging alarms on a machine and performing routine preventative maintenance.

Never trust H1B visa holders.

Great work Intel. They should fire all the engineers and outsource the jobs to India or Israel.

Dum--ss working at Intel taking half year vacations or managers heating their seat all day long.

Techs aren't needed, engineer's should do the senior techs jobs.

Great comeback strategy. Replace BB techs with a revolving door of GB techs.

The decision is made by managements who do not know semiconductor manufacturing at all. More rotten from inside.

Leadership at Intel cannot be trusted

@a4 but it is a bad thing? There are some awesome green badge folks who put in a ton of effort to help keep Intel running, but there are too many contractor companies who pay sh-t wages and offer terrible benefits so their employees don't give a cr-p about Intel and the turnover is crazy. It'll save Intel money in the short term but this decision is going to bite them in the a-s when they have to handle the mistakes and associated fab impacts from the inevitable decline in quality work.

@a4 yeah it is a bad thing. Companies failure to innovation and inability to keep up with AI is the fault of leaders of Intel. Not the small guy who actually handles the wafer having direct contact with it.

Well good luck building morale when they are already planning to lay off in January the next group in Oregon which is getting hit harder than NM since NM has hvm working on their 14a and 18a.
